2013 was the centenary of Scott's birth and several exhibitions that year celebrated his achievements. This catalogue was published as a record of the three-venue career retrospective which travelled from Tate St.Ives to Hepworth Wakefield and then to the Ulster Museum.
Covering the full range of his oeuvre from student days to the last years of painting in the mid-1980s, this exhibition was a fantastic overview of the achievements of a major figure in British art in the second half of the c20th. Particularly noteworthy was the consistency of invention within the themes he favoured, especially still-life, and how the innate harmony and balance of the compositions keeps them looking so fresh.
