Marguerite Steen's biography of WN is interesting because it is written by a novelist but also she and Nicholson lived together for several years. That combination of the writer's skill at telling a story combined with an intimate knowledge and understanding of her subject make this a very readable book. Filled with anecdote, period flavour and insight, it brings WN to life in a way that still makes this a valuable read for anyone interested in his life and work.
