William Crutchfield (1932-2015) was an American artist, illustrator and printmaker whose work displays a very particular aesthetic. Mostly built around line, his rather surreal imagery combines source material in most interesting and often amusing ways. There are visual puns and unlikely combinations aplenty, which often use historical or archaic objects, such as sailing ships, steam ships and architecture, to great effect. Includes a short biography, exhibition listing and bibliography.
