A very well-received show, this 2017 Dulwich exhibition saw some really great examples of Bell's work shown to the public, and the public loved them. Although Bloomsbury generally has never really waned in interest since the 1970s/1980s revival, the lack of really punchy exhibitions for some time had made it all feel a little bit safe and cliquey, but by presenting a powerful selection of works, this exhibition reaffirmed just how good a painter she could be.
