The wrapper is complete but features some homemade sellotape and passe-partout tape repairs to a tear from the top of the spine. Internally very clean and tidy, one annotation to the first floating endpaper; illustrated throughout in black and white and colour.
Dubuffet had been shown in New York several times since the late 1940s by the Pierre Matisse Gallery but this show was his first one-man exhibition in an institutional setting. By the time of this MoMA retrospective in 1962, the development of his art had brought forth the full range of his portraits, street scenes and landscapes in his own inimitable style.
