Clough has for many years been one of those artists that other artists rate highly, yet her wider reputation has been much lower than it deserves. The creator of a really fascinating body of painted, drawn, printed and constructed work from the 1940s until the 1990s, she is now being rediscovered by a younger generation who see a powerful and independent vision at work. 

Frances Spalding's excellent volume is now hard to find but offers a wonderful overview of Clough's life and career.
