Lewis was a major figure in British art in the period before, during and after WWI and although much of his output in oils from that time is now lost, the works on paper are remarkable. 

When the revival of interest in this period of British modern art began, Lewis was someone who was ripe for reappraisal and the exhibitions staged by Anthony d'Offay are quite something. This catalogue includes some really strong examples of Lewis' work and is definitely something for anyone interested in the artist and the period.
