Artist: Paul Nash
Author: Andrew Causey
Publisher: Tate Gallery
Date: 1973
Condition: A very lightly read copy, complete with dust wrapper (clipped); some tanning to the wrapper, but otherwise a very nice copy of this relatively scarce catalogue.
Although Nash's photography is now relatively well known and studied alongside the paintings, this 1973 exhibition was something of an eye-opener to the wider public at the time and was the result of the gift to the Tate Gallery Archive of over a thousand surviving negatives by The Paul Nash Trust.
Using only a fairly basic camera, Nash managed to give his images a distinct flavour, sometimes just observing and at others creating compositions and assemblages which feed into his paintings.
A very interesting and not commonly seen volume for the Nash devotee.
