Internally very clean, bright and unmarked. On the title page, this copy is signed by the artist and also signed and dedicated by the author. Loosely inserted are Heron's obituaries from The Independent (Mel Gooding 23/3/1999) and The Guardian (Michael McNay 22/3/1990)
Gooding's monograph on Heron is one of the cornerstone publications on the artist, and one which everyone interested in post-war British abstract painting should own. Covering his entire career from youth to almost the end of his life, this insightful volume is an important source of information and commentary on an artist who was one of the leading painters of his generation as well as being a vital conduit for ideas between Britain, Europe and the US.
