Condition: A generally clean and tidy copy, this first edition example is an ex-library book so bears the accession stamps and remains of the lending plate of Manchester Oublic Libraries on the endpapers. However, it is not rebound, and is complete with the original colour printed dust wrapper over red linen boards, bound in mylar (sellotaped to the inside front and back boards). there are some minor scuffs and handling marks to the dust jacket. Internally it is complete and unmarked. Illustrated in colour and black and white throughout. Please note the images here are of another copy.

The first monograph on Patrick Heron, this 1988 publication is still a very useful source of information on the artist, not least because it has a exhibition history and bibliography to publication date, several extracts from Heron's own writings and others on him, as well as a piece he specially wrote for this book.

All together, this makes for a very interesting and visually attractive book which has now become quite hard to find in good condition.
