Lionello Puppi's 1973 monograph and catalogue raisonne on Andrea Palladio's architecture is still a landmark publication. Beautifully produced and extensively illustrated throughout with black and white photographs, some amazingly atmospheric, of the buildings and designs of an architect who has probably influenced more buildings over a longer period in Western Europe and North America than anyone else.
For the architectural historian or student, this publication offers the technical detail; for the architectural enthusiast it presents the works with great panache. The perfect factual companion to a viewing of Joseph Losey's 1979 film adaptation of Don Giovanni!
