Condition: Very good, a little sunning to the spine and a tiny bit of wear to the bottom edge, but otherwise very clean and unmarked. Loosely inserted are an estimates sheet and a bidding slip for the sale.

Most of the auction catalogues for this period appear at first glance to be fairly plain affairs, but once you dig inside a bit, they offer a lot of interesting material for anyone interested in Modern British art.

This catalogue, from 1975, includes works that are now in public collections or which have been widely exhibited since, so this little insight into their earlier history is illuminating. What is also interesting is what went into these sales that now one would never expect to find there - this one for example includes a major 1907 oil by John Singer Sargent!
