Bramham is less well-known than he should be but to anyone who is interested in the figurative painting of the late c20th and early c21st, then he should be on your radar. There are obvious connections to the work of Freud but mostly in so much as they both looked back to earlier artists such as Chardin and Soutine. The strong impasto, powerful light and oblique viewpoints of Bramham's painting is well worth investigating.
