Published to accompany the 2023 exhibition of the collection of Irish art formed over decades by the art dealer Alan Hobart and his wife, Mary, this is a very interesting overview not just of their collecting but the pivotal position the Hobarts held in the revival of the market for Irish art during the late 1980s and into the 1990s as the 'Celtic Tiger' economy boomed. The collection was later largely dispersed through auction at Christie's in 2024 so this catalogue is an important testament to a remarkable vision from the Hobarts.
