This publication is a reproduction of Richard's drawings made in a copy of Dylan Thomas' Collected Poems 1934-52.
Richards and the poet only met once, in Laugharne in 1953, shortly before Thomas' final trip to America. They had planned a joint exhibition and poetry event to take place at the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery in Swansea on Thomas' return from America but as we know, he did not return. This copy of Thomas' Collected Poems which Richards illustrated with his own drawings includes a note that the 'Drawings made on November 7-8-'53. Unknown to Richards, on the other side of the Atlantic, his countryman was to die the following day, 9th November 1953.
