Hepworth's 1962 exhibition at London's Whitechapel Art Gallery followed her earlier retrospective there in 1954, but this time the show was dedicated to just the work of the previous decade. As such it was one of the first public exhibitions of her sculpture to show a large number of bronze pieces. Hepworth had only really begun casting her work in bronze in the mid 50s and realised that the medium offered potential which was not available in wood or stone and she embraced it as an additional aspect of her practice.
A well-illustrated (in black and white) catalogue, as well as including several period shots of the artist herself. One of the key catalogues all Hepworth fans need on their shelves.
