The final issue of Axis, this magazine represents very well so much of the ethos and interests of the modernist circles in Britain in the 1930s. Running from 1935-37, the magazine was always going to cater to a small group and was also quite expensive, costing two shillings and sixpence a copy, so I can't imagine that the print runs or sales were particularly huge.
This issue includes two articles of particular interest for Modern British scholars; John Piper's 'Prehistory from the Air' and Myfanwy Evans' 'Paul Nash, 1937'
A very rare item - ideally to be read whilst sitting in your Isokon Long Chair!
